Alex Ross is a highly acclaimed American comic book artist and writer renowned for his realistic, painted artwork. Ross displayed artistic talent from an early age. He gained widespread recognition with his 1994 series Marvels, which he created with writer Kurt Busiek. This series provided a human perspective on the Marvel Universe and showcased Ross’s unique painting style.

Ross’s work on the 1996 DC Comics series Kingdom Come, alongside writer Mark Waid, further cemented his reputation. This series depicted a dystopian future for DC’s superheroes and was lauded for its epic narrative and detailed, luminous art. Ross has continued to contribute to both Marvel and DC Comics with projects such as Uncle Sam, Justice, and Earth X.

In addition to his comic work, Ross has produced artwork for various other media, including promotional posters for the Academy Awards and album covers for the band Anthrax.
