Sabrina the Teenage Witch serves as the bridge between the two “universes,” and let’s just say that Archie from Riverdale and Playtime from Redport find themselves in a whirlwind of chaos and fear. When Sabrina hijacks a Riverdale field trip to Twilight City to retrieve a magical artifact, she accidentally transports Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Reggie into the costumed criminal underworld led by Playtime and Scalpel. These innocent teens are mistaken for supervillain henchmen and enlisted in Playtime’s ongoing war against Top Hat, a mysterious figure from Frankie’s past. Meanwhile, a hungry Jughead and Josie and the Pussycats head to Bite Burger, where they encounter Barfly’s punk rocker fly $#*@eater—are we about to witness the formation of a supergroup?! The series weaves a classic Archie tale (Archie succumbs to temptation to impress the girls) while introducing a pivotal chapter in Playtime’s overarching journey that will have lasting implications in the Minor Threats books for years to come. From Salem the Cat to Crab Louie, this crossover features all the beloved characters from both universes. Issue one of the four-issue mini-series is written by Minor Threats co-creators Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum, with Timmy Heague (Archie Comics’ Fear the Funhouse: Toybox of Terror) handling the writing, and art by Scott Koblish (Deadpool).• Four-issue series.
