New year, new gods, new scale.

To kick off our first Graphic Novel Club of 2026, we’re going big:

Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons – written by Kelly Sue DeConnick with art by Phil Jimenez, Gene Ha, and Nicola Scott – an Eisner Award–winning, Greek-myth fever dream that rewrites the origin of the Amazons with operatic scope and jaw-dropping pages. 

We’ll be meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 7PM at Revenge Of to dive into goddesses, revolt, impossible armor, and one of the most visually extravagant books DC has ever published.

Before Diana. Before the island. Before the lasso.

Wonder Woman Historia is a DC Black Label graphic novel that tells the secret history of the Amazons—beginning with seven goddesses furious at how mortal women are treated, and the war in heaven that follows when they decide to change things themselves. 

Across three oversized chapters, each drawn by a different artistic powerhouse (Phil Jimenez, Gene Ha, and Nicola Scott), the book:

• Reimagines Greek myth with a Homeric, epic scale and a woman-centered lens
• Follows Hippolyta and the Amazons as they fight for women across the ancient world
• Delivers page after page of dense, ornate, “how is this even possible?” artwork that’s become legendary in modern superhero comics 

The collected edition has also picked up serious accolades, including an Eisner Award for Best Graphic Novel (Reprint) and a nomination for the 2024 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, cementing it as a modern classic. 

This is us setting the tone for our first proper superhero(ine) story in book club: big, lush, mythic, and absolutely ready to be obsessed over.

The Revenge Of Graphic Novel Club is:

Open to all readers – no ongoing membership, come to one or come to all

• Bi-monthly – we meet every two months to focus on a single standout graphic novel
• In-person at Revenge Of – space to talk, question, nerd out, and discover new favorites together

Previous picks have spanned memoir, horror, crime, and holiday fantasy. With Wonder Woman Historia, we’re stepping fully into the superhero pantheon while still keeping our “big ideas, big art, big feelings” energy.

• $10 – if you’re bringing your own copy from elsewhere

Tickets help us:

• Pay staff to host and facilitate the night
• Keep the space open late and comfortable
• Continue running a Graphic Novel Club that isn’t just vibes—it’s infrastructure, too
